Finding your PAN card's Speed Post number
When your PAN card is dispatched, the agency that processed your application (Protean, formerly NSDL e-Gov, or UTIITSL) usually shows the dispatch details on its PAN status page, and may send the number by SMS or email. Use your acknowledgement number on that agency's official site.
Didn't receive it?
Track the number here first. If it was returned because of an address problem, contact the agency that issued the PAN. You can also download an e-PAN from the official sources in the meantime.
NSDL and UTI PAN card status check
- Protean (formerly NSDL e-Gov): check the status with the 15-digit acknowledgement number from your application. After printing, the status shows that the card was sent by Speed Post, with the consignment number.
- UTIITSL: check with the application coupon number or your PAN. Dispatch details appear once the card is posted.
- Copy the 13-character Speed Post number from there and paste it above. The PAN agencies' pages don't show each post office scan. This page does.
Questions
Is there a PAN card tracking app?
You do not need one. This page works in any phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen. Save the number once and check it again later.
How long does PAN card delivery take by Speed Post?
Usually a few working days after dispatch, depending on your location.
My PAN card tracking says "item returned".
The address was likely incomplete or no one was available. Contact the PAN agency with your acknowledgement number.
Is there a separate PAN card tracking number?
Your application has an acknowledgement number. The Speed Post number is different, and that is what you track here.
