What 24 and 48 Speed Post are
India Post started these premium services in early 2026. 24 Speed Post is a next-day service and 48 Speed Post a second-day service. Items get priority handling and go by air. The receiver confirms delivery with an SMS OTP, delivery runs seven days a week including Sundays, and the Speed Post charge is refunded if the item misses the promised time.
Which cities it covers
For now it runs only between six metro cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. India Post says more cities will follow in phases, so ask at the counter or check indiapost.gov.in before you book.

Tracking a 24 or 48 item
The number looks like any Speed Post number: it starts with E and ends with IN. Because the promise is next-day, watch the dates in your result. If the deadline passes without delivery, keep the receipt: the booking office needs it for the refund. Refunds are handled by India Post, not by this site.
